Intersection closure for watermain repair at Fairbank Station Friday, March 15, 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

Due to a watermain break beneath the intersection at Dufferin Avenue and Eglinton Avenue, crews will be on site Friday evening to perform emergency repair on the water main.  It is unknown how long repairs will take to complete, so overnight work is possible.  No service interruptions are anticipated at this time. 


Hours of Work

  • Work will begin Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and will take several hours to complete
  • Overnight work is possible

Overnight Lane Reductions for Wet Utility Works at Fairbank Station March 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning in early March 2019, crews will implement overnight lane reductions at the intersection of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West to perform sewer relocation and water discharge works.  Work will begin on Eglinton Ave approximately 40 meters east of Dufferin St, followed by Dufferin St approximately 30 meters south of Eglinton Ave, for a total of approximately five (5) nights (weather permitting).  Read more »

Temporary Crosswalk Removal at Fairbank Station March 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

The east crosswalk at Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily unavailable for approximately two (2) weeks while crews perform overnight wet utility work in the intersection.  During this time, the west crosswalk will remain open.  Upon completion of the utility works, the east crosswalk will be restored.

UPDATE: Overnight Concrete Pour at Fairbank Station - February 8, 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

On Friday, February 8, crews will perform a large concrete pour at the Main Entrance area of Fairbank Station. The concrete will form the concourse level of the Main Entrance.  Concrete pumps will be placed in the work zone and one on Vaughan Road, and concrete trucks will queue in the southbound lane of Dufferin Street between Eglinton Avenue West and Hunter Street.  Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while work takes place, though traffic delays can be expected.
