Eglinton Closed at Dufferin Street for Weekend Construction
March 7th - 10th and March 14th - 17th, 2014
The Eglinton Crosstown is a transit project that will provide rapid and reliable service across Eglinton Avenue including an underground central section and will be up to 60% faster than bus service today.
What: Installation of piles for the building of the station headwalls in the centre of the Eglinton Avenue will require two full road closures of Eglinton Avenue West at Dufferin Street.
This work is required for the construction of the east and west headwalls for the future Dufferin Station and in preparation for the approaching tunnel boring machines from Black Creek Drive.
Eglinton Avenue Road Closure, east of Dufferin Street
Where and When:
From Friday, March 7th, 2014 beginning at 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, March 10th, 2014
A full road closure will take place east of the intersection of Eglinton Avenue at Dufferin Street for eastbound and westbound traffic over the weekend.
Traffic on Dufferin Street will not be affected. Vehicles will be allowed to travel north and south on Dufferin Street. With the exception of local traffic, motorists using Eglinton will be detoured at Caledonia Road in the west, Castlefield Avenue in the north, Rogers and Oakwood Roads in the south and Marlee Ave in the east.

Where and When:
From Friday, March 14th, 2014 beginning at 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, March 17th, 2014
A full road closure will take place west of the intersection of Eglinton Avenue at Dufferin Street for eastbound and westbound traffic for the weekend of March 14th – March 17th, 2014.
Eglinton Avenue West from Dynevor Road will not be accessible. Access to Dynevor Road from Hunter Avenue is for local traffic only.
Traffic on Dufferin Street will not be affected. Vehicles will be allowed to travel north and south on Dufferin Street. With the exception of local traffic, motorists using Eglinton will be detoured at Caledonia Road in the west, Castlefield Avenue in the north, Rogers and Oakwood Roads in the south and Marlee Ave in the east.
Traffic and Bus Details
As a result of this closure, advanced signs will be in place to advise of these Eglinton Road Closures and to provide detour information to avoid the intersection. Watch for the orange detour signs in the neighbourhood. TTC Eglinton and Dufferin Transit service will be re-routed. Watch for posted notices.
Timeline may be adjusted due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Work Hours
The hours of work as permitted are between 7a.m. and 11p.m., 7 days a week. Overnight work may be required for some activities associated with this closure. Underground tunnelling and associated work may continue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There will be some construction noise and vibration in this work area.
