What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday April 7, crews will be removing the power station on the west side of the East Portal. To complete this work, crews will be installing a crane north of the workzone on Eglinton Avenue E, east of Brentcliffe Rd. Traffic travelling eastbound on Eglinton Avenue E will be shifted slightly north. Pedestrians will be guided through the area by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers. This work will occur during off-peak hours, from as early as 10:00am – 2:00pm.

  • As early as 10:00am – 2:00pm.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

  • Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and west crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The east crosswalk will remain closed.
  • Pedestrians travelling on the south side of Eglinton Avenue E will be directed through the area with help of flagpersons.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
