What Work is Taking Place?

Starting Tuesday October 15, crews will begin working extended hours at Forest Hill Station to accelerate construction.  Extended hours work will be completed in phases, beginning with deep excavation beneath the station roof and at station entrances, as well as maintenance hole construction, from October 2019 through January 2020.  On-site mitigation measures will be in place to minimize disruption caused by this work. 

Crews will work Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Overnight activities will include loading and hauling of excavated soil in dump trucks, welding, tie-back installation, and construction of a new maintenance hole. Please carefully review ‘What to Expect’ for more information.

Hours of Work 

  • Extended construction hours will begin Tuesday October 15, 2019
  • Monday – Saturday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
  • Maintenance hole construction will take place from October through November 2019 only
  • Crews may not work every night, and work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect 

  • Construction activity on the north side of Eglinton Ave within the existing work zones and station entrances
  • Overnight noise from loading trucks and hauling soil
  • Use of construction equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, cranes and fans
  • Construction lighting will be required; lighting will be positioned away from residential properties 

Traffic Details 

  • Dump trucks will travel westbound on Eglinton Ave and northbound on Bathurst St
  • Trucks will stage on Eglinton Ave and Bathurst St (areas shown in orange on the map)
  • Traffic on Bathurst St is expected to shift west in late November
  • Periodic overnight lane closures may be required for utility work
