As part of the ongoing construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews continue rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Massey Creek culvert at the Eglinton Avenue East and Rosemount Drive intersection.

Starting February 4, 2020, for a maximum period of three (3) weeks, crews will work extended hours to accelerate construction. Construction activities will include excavation, welding, rebar, formwork and concrete works.

Due to the in-water working restrictions outlined by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, crews are prohibited from completing necessary work at Massey Creek Culvert during the fish breeding period from March 31 to July 1. Working extended hours will accelerate culvert reconstruction and ensure the completion of necessary work before the restriction date of March 31, 2020.

Construction will take place 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning February 4, 2020 for a maximum period of three (3) weeks.

The period between 5:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. will be primarily used to perform less noisy work, such as preparatory works, excavation, concrete pours, formwork, welding, rebar, deliveries and hauling.

Construction activities planned for weekend work will adhere to the permitted hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The contractor may not always work these hours but may do so at its discretion; work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Noise from construction activities and equipment, such as excavation, trucks and generators can be expected.

Barriers, fencing, dust cloth and signage will be present in and around work zones.

Site lighting can be expected.

A temporary sidewalk will be maintained on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East in front of 2243 Eglinton Avenue East, north of the construction site.

Minor changes to traffic configuration, such as removal of barriers, may be required to facilitate construction.

A minimum of one lane of eastbound and westbound through traffic will be maintained during this work.

Motorists may experience delays when travelling near work zones.

Emergency services access will be maintained.
