What Work is Taking Place?

  • Crews will drill several boreholes in the Eglinton Station area to install monitoring equipment that measures settlement or movement in the existing structures during the forthcoming shoring (support of excavation).
  • Work will take place intermittently along Eglinton Avenue, Yonge Street, Cowbell Lane, Holly Street, Duplex Avenue, and Berwick Avenue, as crews move from one borehole to the next.

Timing

  • Work is expected to begin as early as October 7, 2016 and will last for approximately 2 months.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Equipment and work trucks will be present along the Eglinton Avenue corridor, between Duplex Avenue and Holly Street, and along Yonge Street between Roehampton Avenue and Soudan Avenue, as crews move from one hole to the next.
  • Temporary lane closures will be required to carry out the work.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing, and the use of heavy equipment.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

The construction set-up will shift often.
Please look for posted signage as you travel through the area
