What work is starting?
- In February 2016, crews began conducting geotechnical works along Eglinton Avenue East to make way for the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT.
- As geotechnical works continue crews will drill boreholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Midland Avenue to determine the condition of existing asphalt, soil and rocks.
What to Expect
- Crews will drill approximately 20 boreholes in the road to determine the condition of existing asphalt, soil and rocks along Eglinton Avenue East.
- Boreholes will be drilled along the Eglinton Avenue East corridor, between Brentcliffe Road and Midland Avenue.
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing, and the use of heavy equipment.
Timing
- Geotechnical works will continue the until the end of 2016.
- Geotechnical works will be conducted between the hours of approximately 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic and Pedestrian Details
- Intermittent lane closures can be expected with this work. Equipment and work trucks will be present along the Eglinton Avenue East corridor, between Brentcliffe Road and Midland Avenue, as crews move from one hole to the next.
- Pedestrian and property access will be maintained.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites. Traffic delays are expected during construction.
