What Work is Taking Place?

Kennedy Station and its environs are changing every day.

As part of GO Transit Improvements at Kennedy, crews will close a southern portion of the existing east platform on the Stouffville Line as early as Monday, February 19, 2018 to facilitate the construction of a new pedestrian underpass (see picture below — highlighted in blue).

This will become the new underground connection between the East and future West GO Platforms as part of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Project.

Timing

  • The GO Platform closure is scheduled for as early as Monday, February 19, 2018 until May 2018
  • The permitted working hours will be from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m, Monday through Sunday.
  • In order to minimise impact on service, the closure will take place after the last train.
  • Existing levels of service will be maintained throughout the shoring and construction processes.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Other Upcoming Improvements

Other improvements planned under GO Transit Improvements include the following:

  • Construct a new west platform
  • Rebuild the entire existing east platform
  • Build a new entrance for Kennedy GO Station

For now, continue to access the GO train as you normally would.

Please watch for construction signage and listen for GO Transit Service updates and announcements during this time. More details to follow.
