Overnight Tunnel Boring Machine Removals Eglinton Avenue Closure: Yonge St. to Dunfield Ave. Nightly, April 4-7 & April 10, 2017

What Work is Taking Place?

Tunnelling is complete, and crews will be removing the south TBM, Humber, over several days in April, 2017 (April 4, 5, 7 and 10).  As with Don, Humber will be disassembled and removed in pieces. The pieces will be loaded onto trucks by large cranes and transported offsite. Read more »

What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning the week of March 27, crews will be conducting watermain service work at the north end of Vaughan Road, south of the Main Entrance site at the southeast corner of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West, to provide water service connection to trailers at the Main Entrance site. Update: Geotechnical Works continue at Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

  • Crews will be conducting ongoing preparatory work that requires short-term temporary work zones along Eglinton Avenue East, Kennedy Road, Transway Crescent, and the North and South Service Roads. 
  • Crews will drill boreholes in the roadway and boulevards to determine the existing condition of asphalt, soil and rocks.

Moving Forward with Battery Energy Storage System

On March 28, 2017, Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca and Laura Albanese, MPP for York-South Weston, visited the future site of Mount Dennis Station to announce the new, proposed energy storage facility. Minister Del Duca and MPP Albanese were joined by Metrolinx Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer Judy Pfeifer, and Chris Tyrrell, Executive VP and Chief Customer Care and Conservation Officer for Toronto Hydro.
