Hydro Utility Relocation for Leaside Station

What work is taking place? 

Crews will relocate and upgrade existing overhead hydro utilities on side streets around the Eglinton Avenue and Bayview Avenue intersection. Once relocated, outages will be required to switch services to the new infrastructure. Outage impacts will be communicated separately only to those directly impacted by the outages.

  • To prepare for future construction of Leaside Station, crews will complete substantial utility relocations around the intersection at Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue.
  • The first stage of utility relocations includes relocation of existing underground Bell utilities.

Demolition Work for Future Eglinton Station

 

What Work is Taking Place?

Two properties are to be demolished to make way for the construction of Eglinton Station:

o The abandoned TTC bus depot located at 2190 Yonge Street. 

o The Salvation Army Community Church located at 7 Eglinton Avenue East.

What Work is Taking Place?

Utility investigation work onsite within TTC land at Kennedy Station and Transway Crescent continues to determine the location and depth of existing utilities. 

Upcoming Utility Investigation

Crews will drill and hydro-vacuum overtop of existing utilities within the TTC boulevard and roadway, then a surveyor will examine the utilities to obtain coordinates for design purposes.  Read more »
