What Work is Taking Place?

In support of construction of the future Kennedy Station, crews will be conducting hydro pole and duct bank installation at the South Service Road. The work will begin as early as Friday, November 9th, and lasting for approximately two (2) weeks.

Hours of Work

  • Work is expected to begin as early as Friday, November 9th, 2018, and take approximately two (2) weeks to complete.
  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Slight lane reductions are required to safely conduct all phases of this work.
  • Partial closure of driveway at the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre.
  • One side of the driveway will remain open to allow inbound and outbound traffic.
  • Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment caused by utilities relocation activity.
  • For safety, fencing, dust cloth, barriers, and scaffolding may be erected around work zones.
  • Noise, dust and lighting from construction activity can be expected.
  • Expect delays when traveling near work zones within the condo parking lot.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Slight lane reductions are required to safely conduct all phases of this work. 
  • Additional lane reductions and/or turn restrictions may be put in place. Signage will be placed to advise motorists of restrictions. 
  • Flagmen will be present during this work.
  • Existing crosswalk and sidewalk closures will remain in effect. 
  • Please watch for signs directing pedestrians to alternate routes. 
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
