Kennedy Station will be the terminal station at the eastern end of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line. Kennedy Station is an interchange station with connections to the GO Transit Stouffville Line, the TTC Scarborough RT, the TTC Bloor-Danforth subway, and a TTC bus terminal. Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Kennedy Station will include upgrades to the existing Kennedy Station infrastructure.  

Demolition of TTC North Entrance and Closure of Pedestrian Tunnel

  • The existing Kennedy Station North Entrance and connected Pedestrian Tunnel will be permanently closed and demolished.
  • TTC passengers wishing to enter Kennedy Station will be able to do so through the South Entrance or the Passenger Pick-Up and Drop-Off area. Please see map below for pedestrian routes and station access.
  • The Taxi Stand Area has been relocated to the Passenger Pick-Up and Drop-Off area.

Hours of Work: Demolition of TTC North Entrance

  • Permanent closure and demolition will start as early as November 29, 2017.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven (7) days a week. The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.

What to Expect: Demolition of TTC North Entrance

  • Construction activities will take place within an enclosed work zone.
  • Once demolition is complete, crews will begin support of excavation work for the new Eglinton Crosstown LRT platform.
  • Nearby residents, businesses, and transit users can expect to hear noise related to road coring, drilling, hydro-vacuuming, and the use of heavy equipment.
  • Pedestrians will be rerouted around the demolition site.

Relocation of the Bus Loop and Passenger Platform

  • The existing Kennedy Station Bus Loop will be temporarily moved to facilitate construction of the new bus loop and passenger platform.
  • TTC passengers will be required to board buses from a new temporary platform south of the terminal.

Hours of Work/What to Expect

  • The changes to the bus loop and platform will begin as early as November 29, 2017 and remain in place for approximately six (6) months.
  • Construction activities will take place within an enclosed work zone directly adjacent the existing bus terminal; passengers can expect to hear noise related to road coring, drilling, hydro-vacuuming, and the use of heavy equipment.
