What Work is Taking Place?

As early as November 18, 2020, crews will begin backfilling activities at the south west corner of Eglinton and Laird Drive. Work will take place between the hours of 9:00p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday for a period of two (2) weeks.

 

What to Expect

Nightly closures of two eastbound lanes on Eglinton Ave E, west of Laird Drive will be implemented. A paid duty officer will be onsite to assist with traffic management for the duration of the closure. Occasional overnight noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected. Site lighting will be positioned away from residential properties. Crews will endeavor to minimize disruption as much as possible.  

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • Nightly closures of two eastbound lanes on Eglinton Ave E, west of Laird Drive will be implemented between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.  
  • The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Ave E, west of Laird drive in front of the work zone will be closed nightly. Pedestrians will be directed to cross at Sutherland Drive to access the north sidewalk on Eglinton Ave E.

Transit Information

  • There will be no changes to the current TTC routes and stop locations.

Hours of Work 

  • As early as November 18, 2020 for approximately two (2) weeks.
  • Work will take place between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
