What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday September 13, 2021, crews will begin permanent traffic light installations at Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Avenue West.  To facilitate this work safely, eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane only. Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West be reduced to a single lane east of the intersection and two lanes west of the intersection. Northbound traffic on Black Creek Drive will be reduced to two thru lanes south of the intersection and one lane north of the intersection. Pedestrian access will be maintained while this work takes place. This work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekdays for approximately two (2) weeks.  

 

What to Expect

Noise from construction activities can be expected.  Expect delays while travelling through the area.  A paid duty officer will be present, while this work takes place.

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday September 13, 2021, for approximately two (2) weeks.
  • This work is expected to take place Monday - Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane only.
  • Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West be reduced to a single lane east of the intersection and two lanes west of the intersection.
  • Northbound traffic on Black Creek Drive will be reduced to two thru lanes south of the intersection and one lane north of the intersection.

 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The east-west crosswalk on the north side Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Ave West will be restricted for the duration of this work.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained on the north and southeast corners of Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Ave West.

 

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • The westbound TTC bus stop located on the northeast corner of Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Ave West will be relocated 50 meters east for the duration of this work [TTC route Eglinton West 32A, 32D, 32F, and 332].
  • The eastbound TTC bus stop located on the southeast corner of of Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Ave West will be relocated to the southwest corner for the duration of this work [TTC route Eglinton East 32, 32D, and 332].
