What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Fairbank are completing fine-tuning adjustments for the dewatering well pumps. To complete this work, the southbound lane on Dufferin St, south of Eglinton Ave W will be closed. One lane on Dufferin St will remain open, and two-way traffic will be controlled by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers. Lanes will be reduced from as early as 10:00am – 2:00pm on Wednesday February 12, Friday February 14, Monday February 17, Wednesday February 19, and Friday February 21.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be fine-tuning the dewatering pumps on the southwest corner of Dufferin St and Eglinton Ave W.
  • Upon completion of the works, Dufferin St will re-open to two lanes.
  • There will be flagpersons directing traffic through the area for the duration of the work.
  •  Noise from construction activity can be expected.

Traffic Details

  •  Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and west crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The east crosswalk will remain closed.
  •  The southbound lane on Dufferin St will be temporarily closed.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.

 

Travelling Smart During Construction

Travel delays are expected with Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
