What Work is Taking Place?

Starting August 2020, crews will perform late night concrete pours between Wynford Drive and the East Don River Bridge, and between Jonesville Crescent and Victoria Park Avenue. The concrete will form the plinths that will support the future tracks of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.  Late night pours will occur twice per week, starting as early as Thursday August 13, 2020, for approximately six (6) weeks. Pours will take place between the hours of 10:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. Crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as much as possible.

To facilitate these works, crews will be required to perform rolling lane closures on Eglinton Avenue East, between Wynford Drive and Victoria Park Avenue. One lane of traffic will be temporarily occupied on Eglinton Avenue East, during each concrete pour.  Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present, while these works take place.

 

What to Expect
Noise from concrete trucks and pumps, as well as site lighting, can be expected. Site lighting will be positioned away from residential properties. Concrete trucks will stage on Eglinton Avenue East and within the work zones. Expect delays while travelling through the area. 
 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS
• Rolling lane closures will be required on Eglinton Avenue East between Wynford Drive and Victoria Park Avenue.
• Crews will occupy one lane of traffic on Eglinton Avenue East during each pour.
PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
• No changes to pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work. 

HOURS OF WORK
• As early as Thursday August 13, 2020 for approximately six (6) weeks.
• Late night concrete pours are expected to occur twice per week.
• Work will take place between 10:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
