What Work is Taking Place?

To prepare for future construction of the Leaside Station, crews will remove existing medians on Bayview Avenue, north and south of Eglinton Avenue. Crews will also be installing temporary traffic lights around the intersection at Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue. 

Timing

  • Works are expected to begin as early as July 25th, 2016 and will take approximately two (2) weeks to complete
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances

Leaside median removal

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • All pedestrian routes remain open
  • Works will be completed in a sequence designed  to minimize traffic and pedestrian impacts
  • Lane closures on Bayview are required during median removal
  • Alternating short term closures of curbside lanes on Eglinton Avenue East are required during traffic light works
  • A Paid Duty Officer will be present for work near the intersection when necessary
