Beginning as early as Sunday, November 13 work zones will be erected within the roadway at both the northwest and southwest corners of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East as crews will continue to relocate existing utilities in the vicinity of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

Hydro utility relocations will begin and relocation work continues on telecommunication lines within man holes as well within pre-existing duct banks. Work is expected to last for approximately six (6) weeks. Most of the work will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with some work occurring during extended hours to 11:00 p.m. Limited overnight works are also expected.

Lane reductions will be required on Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East to complete this work. A minimum of two lanes of traffic will be maintained in all directions. Right turns from southbound Don Mills Road to westbound Eglinton Avenue East will be prohibited for all vehicles, including TTC buses. Signage will be placed on Don Mills Road to advise motorists of the restriction.

The west-to-east pedestrian crosswalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road will be closed. Existing sidewalk detours and closures will remain in effect during this stage of work. Pedestrian detours will be clearly marked with signage directing pedestrians to the alternate routes.

TTC bus detours and/or bus stops in the construction area may be affected for the safety of transit riders. Please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
