What Work is Taking Place?

Kennedy Station is an interchange station with connections to the GO Transit Stouffville Line, the TTC Scarborough RT, the TTC Bloor-Danforth subway, and a TTC bus terminal. Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Kennedy Station will include upgrades to the existing Kennedy Station infrastructure.

Crews have successfully completed the restoration for the north bus loop platform at the Kennedy Station. It will be handed over to TTC beginning as early as Wednesday, October 31, 2018. This will see passengers being able to wait inside of Kennedy Station again.

Hours of Work

  • Beginning as early as Wednesday, October 27, 2018  
  • Time: As per TTC bus schedule.  
  • Duration: As per TTC bus schedule.
  • Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.

What to Expect

  • Reinstatement of the north passenger platform.
  • Completion of bus loop restoration.
  • TTC passengers will be required to board buses from the newly reinstated bus platform as per TTC bus schedule.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • The south sidewalk on the Eglinton Bridge between the East and West Service Road will be closed until December 2020.
  • The north and south sidewalks on the South West Service Road at Kennedy Station will be closed until December 2020.
  • Access is only permitted on the North West Service Road.
  • Pedestrian access to Kennedy Station is available adjacent to the temporary access roadway.
  • Access from Transway Crescent permitted up to South Commuter Parking Lot or Passenger Pick-up and Drop-off Loop.

TTC Impacts

  • TTC passengers will be required to board buses from the newly reinstated bus platform as per TTC bus schedule.
  • TTC bus stops in the affected area may be relocated for the safety of transit riders.
  • In the event of relocation, please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses respectively, is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
