What Work Is Taking Place?

On Friday April 9, 2021, crews will perform investigative watermain work on Eglinton Avenue West, east of Dufferin Street.  A water shut-off is required to facilitate the work.  Water service will be restored upon completion of the work. Please carefully read the water shut-off details below.

 

Water Shut-off Details:

  • Friday April 9, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. for approximately four (4) hours 
  • The following properties are expected to be affected: 
    • 1746 to 1828 Eglinton Avenue West (even numbers only) 
    • 1747 to 1803 Eglinton Avenue West (odd numbers only)  
    • The water shut-off may be longer or shorter than expected and may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

Water service will be unavailable while this work takes place.  Noise from construction activity, including use of a hydro vacuum truck, can be expected.  Eglinton Ave will be reduced to one lane only from Dufferin St to west of Northcliffe Blvd as early as 6:00 p.m.  Traffic will alternate in each direction with assistance from a Paid Duty Officer and/or traffic control personal.  Expect delays when travelling through the area.

 

Hours of Work

  • The lane reduction will begin at 6:00 p.m.
  • The water shut-off will begin at approximately 9:00 p.m.

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one lane only from Dufferin St to west of Northcliffe Blvd, alternating traffic in each direction with assistance from a Paid Duty Officer and/or traffic control personnel
