What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be installing OCS (Overhead Catenary System) cables along Eglinton Avenue East between Hakimi/Lebovic and Warden Avenue. Overhead catenary is the system installed overtop of the rails of a light rail system, to provide operational power to the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles). Installation will take place September 21 -24 and September 28-October 1, 2020 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

What to Expect

Cables will be installed overhead using a high rail vehicle. To minimize the impacts to traffic, work will be performed overnight between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A 15-minute closure of each intersection will be required as the high rail vehicle passes through the intersections. Paid duty officers will be onsite nightly to assist with traffic management.  Installation will take place September 21 -24 and September 28-October 1, 2020.
