What Work is Taking Place?
A large crane is required to perform various construction related tasks in the extraction shaft site. The crane will be transported into the extraction shaft construction zone area, which is on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East, at Holly Street.
Timing
- During the week of August 22, 2016, overnight from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
- In order to perform this work, Eglinton Avenue just east and west of Holly Street will be reduced to one lane only.
- Paid Duty Officers (PDO) will be present to direct and control eastbound and westbound traffic through this one lane.
Short-Term Traffic & Pedestrian Details
- Left turns from northbound Holly Street to westbound Eglinton Avenue will remain prohibited.
- Left turns from westbound Eglinton Avenue to southbound Holly Street will remain prohibited.
- Cars entering/exiting 40 Eglinton Avenue East parking garage will be accommodated as needed.
- Delays are expected as you travel through this area. Please take care and watch the traffic signs when travelling near the construction zone.
- All sidewalks will remain open during this work.
Transit Information
Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
