What Work is Happening?

Since September 2016, crews have been completing overhead hydro relocations around the Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue intersection. As early as the week of October 24, crews will be replacing overhead wires and anchors on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East at Bessborough Drive.

  • Students will hear noise from construction equipment including a line truck, vacuum trucks and other construction equipment required for utilities relocation activities.
  • The sidewalk along the south side of Eglinton Ave at Bessborough Drive will be closed during the works. Please use the north sidewalk and cross at the signalized crossing.
  • For safety purposes, pylons and signage will be erected around the work zones while work is underway.

What to Expect and Hours of Work

  • Work is expected to take up to one week to complete.
  • The work is expected to occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., up to seven (7) days a week. Permitted hours are until 11:00 p.m.
