What work is starting?

What: Installation of a jet-grout delivery trench within the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue.

When:  

  • Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10PM to Tuesday, December 8 at 6AM
  • Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 10PM to Wednesday, December 9 at 6AM
  • Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10PM to Thursday, December 10 at 6AM

Where:  Crews will be working on the eastbound Eglinton Avenue curb lane within the intersection at Bayview Avenue

Note:  A City of Toronto Paid Duty Officer will be on-site during this work.

Why:  The trenches are required in order to facilitate the delivery of grout (concrete) to the jet grout headwall (of the future underground station) via the grout delivery trucks and the orange mixing silos.  This work is part of the installation of the west underground station headwall construction for the future Bayview Station. 

Traffic Details:

  • At least one single lane of traffic in all directions will be maintained
  • All turns will be maintained.
  • All driveways and sidewalk will be maintained during these stages of construction.  

Work Hours

This trenching work to install jet grout hoses will occur in the overnight hours. 

Crews will be completing restoration of the roadway overnight in an effort to minimize traffic impacts. 

As construction progresses, a trench east to west along Bayview will be installed
