What Work is Taking Place?
As early as April 20, 2020, crews will install dewatering wells in the eastbound lane of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Bathurst Street. The wells will form part of a dewatering system that will remove ground water from the excavation below ground. Using a drill, deep and narrow wells will be cored from surface level into the excavation and capped once complete.
Eglinton Avenue east of Bathurst St will be reduced to one lane only while this work takes place. Traffic will alternate in each direction using traffic control personnel. Once the work is complete, one lane of traffic in each direction will be reinstated. To minimize the impact to traffic, this work will be performed overnight when traffic is lighter.
Hours of Work
- Beginning Monday April 20, 2018 for approximately two (2) weeks
- 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., daily
- Crews may not work every day, and work may be longer or shorter than expected
