What Work is Taking Place?
The eastbound and westbound left turn lanes at Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will be temporarily restricted on February 14, 2020 between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to support the construction of the future Golden Mile LRT Stop.
Work includes rail installation east and west of Warden Avenue, the left turn restrictions will allow crews greater access to the mid-block guideway work zone, and enough space to carry out the work safely.
Upcoming Traffic Configuration
Hours of Work
- The temporary left turn lane closures will be implemented overnight on February 14, 2020.
- Work will be performed between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
- Eastbound and westbound left turns will be prohibited on Eglinton Avenue East at Warden Avenue.
- A minimum of one lane of eastbound and westbound through traffic will be maintained during this work.
- Emergency services access will be maintained.
What to Expect
- A telehandler will be used to pull rail materials through the existing mid-block guideway work zone.
- Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from construction.
- Road users can expect delays when traveling through work zone.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Travelling Smart During Construction
Travel delays are expected with Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
