What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Wednesday, October 12, 2022, a new traffic configuration will be implemented at Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East. Traffic on Mount Pleasant Road will shift to the east side of the street and construction will move to the west side. The crosswalk on the west side of the intersection will close, and the crosswalk on the east side of the intersection will reopen.
To minimize impact to the travelling public, crews will work overnight to set up the new traffic configuration. Work will begin at 7:00 p.m. and take approximately six (6) hours to complete.
This traffic configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately one (1) month. For more information, please review the complete notice below.
What to Expect
Overnight noise from construction activities, including material loading, hammering, and the use of a crane, can be expected while the traffic changes are being implemented. Expect delays while traveling through the intersection. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present while the traffic changes are being implemented. Utility, road, and sidewalk restoration works will take place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East and on the west side of Mount Pleasant Road. Noise and vibration from construction activities including milling, paving, compacting, concrete removals, and pours, can be expected during this traffic stage.
HOURS OF WORK
• The new traffic configuration will be implemented as early as Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
• Crews will work overnight to set up the new traffic configuration.
• Work will begin at 7:00 p.m. and take approximately six (6) hours to complete.
• This configuration will remain in place for approximately one (1) month.
• This work may be rescheduled or delayed due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
• Traffic on Mount Pleasant Road will shift to the east side of the street and construction will move to the west.
• Traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will remain on the north side of the street.
• All turns at the intersection will remain restricted.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
• The crosswalk on the west side of the intersection will close.
• The crosswalk on the east side of the intersection will reopen.
TRANSIT INFORMATION
• Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
