What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning as early as Tuesday, November 28, crews will be relocating telecommunications utilities (Rogers and Telus) on the northeast corner of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West. This work will take place in the roadway and on the sidewalk. As a result, traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one shared lane, east of Bathurst, alternating traffic in each direction. To minimize the impact to pedestrians and road users, this work will be performed overnight.

  • Approximately two (2) weeks to complete

What to Expect

  • Pedestrian rerouting will be in effect.
  • Expect delays when traveling through the intersection.
  • Some noise from construction activity as well as site lighting can be expected.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane only from Bathurst Street to east of the Main Entrance, alternating traffic in each direction.
  • The northeast sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue will be closed.
  • Pedestrians will be rerouted around the Main Entrance.
  • A Paid-Duty Officer (PDO) will be present on-site to direct traffic.
