What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Fairbank will be paving the north side of Eglinton Ave W, east of Dufferin St on Wednesday September 30. Paving will take place within the work zone in the northeast corner of the intersection. During this time, crews will also complete asphalt repair on Eglinton Ave W. To complete the asphalt repair, crews will be closing the westbound lane on Eglinton Ave W, east of Dufferin St, between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Upon completion of the asphalt repair, Eglinton Ave W will be reopened to two lanes.


What to Expect

The westbound lane on Eglinton Ave W will be closed while crews complete the asphalt repair. There will be flag persons and a paid duty officer directing traffic through the area for the duration of the

work. Access to properties along Eglinton Ave W, Dufferin St, and Vaughan Rd will be maintained. Noise from construction equipment can be expected.



  • The westbound lane on Eglinton Ave W, east of Dufferin St, will be closed for the duration of the asphalt repair.
  •   Dufferin St will remain open.
  • No impacts to TTC bus services 



  • Periodic sidewalk interruptions – pedestrians may be rerouted to temporary sidewalk
  •  All TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations



  • Wednesday September 30
  • The paving works will begin as early as 7:00am and last for approximately eight hours.
  • The asphalt repair works will begin as early as 10:00am until approximately 2:00pm.  
  •   The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.


  • Noise from construction equipment such as paving trucks and construction vehicles.
