Pedestrian Route Change at Avenue Station for Eglinton Connects Construction November 18, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Thursday November 18, 2021, the sidewalk closure on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Oriole Parkway, will extend to Lascelles Boulevard to facilitate ongoing construction of the City of Toronto’s Eglinton Connects Streetscape & Cycle Track design, including utility upgrades, tree pit installations, and sidewalk restoration.

During the closure, pedestrians will be unable to access Eglinton Avenue West through the pathway at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre (refer to map above). This configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately two (2) months.

What to Expect

No access to or from Eglinton Avenue West via the pedestrian pathway at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre. Advance signage will be in place to inform pedestrians of the closure. Noise from construction activity can be expected. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Thursday November 18, 2021 until approximately early February 2022
  • Eglinton Connects construction is currently taking place Monday – Friday; 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Crews may be required to work overnight to facilitate utility work and specialized activities
  • This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The sidewalk closure on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Oriole Parkway, will extend to Lascelles Boulevard
  • Pedestrians will be unable to access Eglinton Avenue West through the pathway at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre
