What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will complete the relocation of an existing sanitary sewer line on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street to support the upgrade of existing infrastructure at the future Brentcliffe Portal and Sunnybrook Park Stop.
To minimize traffic disruption for the community, transit users and local businesses, this work is being done overnight. Paid Duty Police Officers will maintain safe traffic flow.
Hours of Work/What to Expect
- Work in the roadway is being completed in stages due to weather conditions.
- Work is expected to resume between Monday, January 29th and Thursday, February 1st from 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. each evening. The roadway and traffic lanes will be restored each morning in advance of rush hour.
- Timelines are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
- The sanitary sewer line will be installed in sections on the Eglinton Avenue roadway approximately 25 metres east of Brentcliffe Road.
- Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment caused by utilities relocation activity.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
- Only one lane on Eglinton Avenue will be open, however two-way traffic will be maintained by Paid Duty Police Officers and/or flagmen.
- Traffic will be delayed in the area during the permitted work hours.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
