What Work is Taking Place?
Water main and fire hydrant reinstallation work is expected to be complete as early as December 21, 2019. Following the completion of the work, all lanes will be restored (depicted below) and the construction zone within the roadway will be removed. A small work zone will remain at the emergency exit building on the boulevard through 2020.

Hours of Work
• Lanes will be reopened as early as December 21, 2019.
• Construction works will occur between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
• This traffic change and related construction activities may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
• Lanes will be reopened on Eglinton Avenue East; traffic alignment will reflect the pre-construction configuration of the area.
• A small work zone will remain on the boulevard at the EEB3 building.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
• Two eastbound and westbound lanes will be restored.
• The eastbound HOV lane will be restored.
• The sidewalk will be open on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.
• Pedestrians will be rerouted around the work zone on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East.
Transit Information
• There will be no impacts to existing TTC stops and routes.
Travelling Smart During Construction
• Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
• Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
