The Crosstown is one of four new LRT lines bringing 52-kilometres of additional transit to Toronto. This new transit will connect communities with comfort, convenience, reliability and speed.
Roadway Work - Eglinton Avenue West between Yarrow Road and Keele Street North
Roadway work will begin on May 22, 2012, to confirm the location of underground structures and utilities in the area of the future Keele - Eglinton Station.
Test pit work includes cutting and removing several small areas of the roadway in order to identify underground conditions. Pavement saw cutting and a vacuum truck will be used for the excavation.
When complete, pits will be temporarily covered with steel road plates. Pits will be backfilled and the roadway will be restored to its original condition.
Each pit will take 2 to 3 hours to complete. Regular construction noise should be expected.
This work will occur Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Work is expected to be completed in mid - June 2012.
Work will be taking place along Eglinton Avenue West between Yarrow Road and Keele Street North. There will be temporary road restrictions, Eglinton Avenue will remain open at all times.
