What Work is Taking Place?

On Monday, August 20, 2018, crews will begin relocation of telecommunication utility infrastructure along the north side of Eglinton Avenue East from Warden Avenue to Birchmount Road.

Rolling sidewalk closures of approximately 30 meters in length will be in effect for the duration of this work. Property access will be maintained at all times, however, delays can be expected.

Hours of Work

  • Beginning as early as Monday, August 20, 2018 for approximately one (1) month.
  • Permitted construction hours are 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Sidewalk closures will be in effect, pedestrian detours can be expected.
  • Delays can be expected when accessing properties surrounding the work zone.
  • Noise from construction activity can be expected.
  • Equipment and material storage will be present.
  • This work may be rescheduled or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather.

TTC Impacts

  • TTC bus stops may be relocated away from work zones.
    • Please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation with the TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
