What Work is Taking Place?

To prepare for the construction of Eglinton Station, crews have begun the next phase of re-routing existing hydro utilities in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue and Yonge Street.

For this next stretch of the work, crews will be working to install new Toronto Hydro infrastructure within the City of Toronto’s public right-of-way across Eglinton Avenue East, east of Holly Street. Crews may use a hydro-vacuum truck, excavators, jack-hammer and other construction equipment to complete the work.

Work is expected to occur May 5th and 6th  from approximately 7am-11pm. Work may be delayed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Eglinton Avenue will be closed eastbound from Holly Street to Dunfield Avenue and westbound from Lillian Street to Holly Street for the duration of this work. Driveways and TTC bus routes will be maintained during the work.

Eglinton Avenue will also be closed from Yonge Street to Holly Street during the Toronto Marathon on Sunday, May 6th. Please check the TTC website for information regarding bus routes during the event.

Transit Information

Access to the TTC Eglinton Subway Station will be maintained. Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
