What Work is Taking Place?

As part of continued support for the future Kennedy Station portal construction, crews will be conducting Bell infrastructure relocation work at the south west corner of Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East intersection.

There will be intermittent sidewalk closure on the southwest corner of the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East intersection in order to safely carry out the work.

Hours of Work

  • Work will begin as early as Thursday, February 21, 2019 for approximately one (1) week.
  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Daily intermittently closure of the sidewalk at southwest corner of the intersection.
  • The sidewalk will be closed daily during the hours of 7:30 am – 11:30 am and 12:00 pm- 4:00 pm.
  • Delays can be expected when accessing properties surrounding the work zone.
  • Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from saw cutters, hydro-vacuum trucks and construction vehicles during this work.
  • Expect delays when traveling near work zones.

Pedestrian Impacts

  • Daily intermittently closure of the sidewalk at southwest corner of the intersection, pedestrian detours can be expected.

TTC Impacts

  • TTC bus stops in the affected area may be relocated for the safety of transit riders.
  • In the event of relocation, please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses respectively, is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
