What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be conducting hydro pole and duct relocation work 50 meters south of Warden Avenue.

Starting as early as Monday, December 3rd, and lasting for approximately two (2) weeks, there will be intermittent sidewalk closure south west of Warden Avenue in order to safely carry out the work.

Rolling sidewalk closures will be in effect for the duration of this work. Property access will be maintained at all times. Some delays can be expected.

Hours of Work

  • Work is expected to begin as early as Monday, December 3, 2018, and take approximately two (2) weeks to complete.
  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Intermittent sidewalk closures will be in effect, pedestrian detours can be expected.
  • The crosswalk on the west side (north-south) of the intersection of Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will be closed.
  • Pedestrian must cross at the next available crosswalks.
  • Delays can be expected when accessing properties surrounding the work zone.
  • Flagmen maybe present to direct traffic.
  • Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment caused by utilities relocation activity.
  • Expect delays when traveling near work zones.

  • The crosswalk on the west side (north-south) of the intersection of Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will be closed.
  • Intermittent sidewalk closures will be in effect, pedestrian detours can be expected.
