What Work is Taking Place?

As early as, Monday, July 4, 2022, crews at Caledonia Station will be continuing sidewalk restoration works on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between the Main Entrance and Croham Road. To facilitate this work, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between Blackthorne Avenue and Croham Road will be temporarily closed. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West in front of the Main Entrance will also be closed and pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk. During phase one, westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to two lanes east of Blackthorne Avenue. This works is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for approximately two (2) weeks and will be carried out in two phases (refer to maps).

 

What to Expect

Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and pouring, can be expected.  Expect delays while travelling through the area. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday, July 4, 2022, for approximately two (2) weeks. The duration of each phase is listed below:
  • Phase One: One (1) week
  • Phase Two: One (1) week
    • This work is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
    • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Phase One: Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to two lanes east of Blackthorne Avenue.
  • Phase Two: Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will reinstated.

 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • Phase One: The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily closed between Blackthorne Avenue and Croham Road. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will be closed in front of the Main Entrance and pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk.
  • Phase Two: The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between Blackthorne Avenue and Croham Road will be reinstated. The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will be closed in front of the Main Entrance and pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk.
  • The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.

 

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • Phase One: The westbound TTC bus stop located at Blackthorne Avenue will be remain relocated approximately 10-metres east.
  • Phase Two: The westbound TTC bus stop will be reinstated at Blackthorne Avenue.
