What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday, January 4, 2022 crews will begin sidewalk restoration works on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between Warden Avenue and Prudham Gate. To facilitate this work, temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in effect between Warden Avenue and Prudham Gate. This work will take approximately three (3) weeks to complete and will be carried out in two phases (refer to maps).

  • Phase One:  Sidewalk construction will take place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between 1923 Eglinton Avenue East and the west driveway entrance of 1941 Eglinton Avenue East.
  • Phase Two: Sidewalk construction will take place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between the east driveway entrance of 1941 Eglinton Avenue East and Prudham Gate.

 

What to Expect

Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and trucks, can be expected. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work. Advance signage will be in place to direct pedestrians.

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • Starting as early as Tuesday January 4, 2022. 
  • The entire duration of the works will be approximately three (3) weeks; the duration of each phase is listed below:
    • Phase One: One (1) week
    • Phase Two: Two (2) weeks
  • Construction activities are expected to take place between 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • This work may be rescheduled or delayed due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances
  • Work may be longer or shorter than expected.

PEDESTRIAN DETAIL

  • The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East, between Warden Avenue and Prudham Gate, will be periodically closed.
  • Pedestrians will be temporarily rerouted around areas where sidewalk construction is taking place.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic routes as a result of this work.
