Staircase Construction at 1730 Eglinton Avenue East

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday, May 31, 2022, crews will be constructing two new staircases at 1730 Eglinton Avenue East. To facilitate this work safely, the sidewalk at 1730 Eglinton Avenue will be temporarily closed and pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane at 1730 Eglinton Avenue East. The affected properties have been notified directly. This work is expected to take place Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for approximately two (2) weeks.

What to Expect

Expect delays while travelling through the area. Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and trucks, can be expected. Access to the sidewalk will be restored upon completion of the work.

HOURS OF WORK

• As early as Tuesday, May 31, 2022, for approximately two (2) weeks.
• This work is expected to take place Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Work may take longer or shorter than expected.
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane at 1730 Eglinton Avenue East for the duration of this work.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• The sidewalk at 1730 Eglinton Avenue East will be temporarily closed and pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone.
