What Work is Taking Place
As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be working on stop construction at Ionview Road, beginning Monday April 6, 2020 and lasting for two (2) weeks.
Guideway and stop construction includes, cutting and removal of asphalt, excavation, installation of subgrade materials, duct banks installation, track drainage, track slab and stop construction.
Work Area Map
Hours of Work
• Work will begin April 6, 2020 and last for two (2) weeks.
• Construction will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
• Noise from construction equipment, generators and concrete trucks can be expected.
• Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavation, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment as well as site lighting.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
• One eastbound lane will be restricted both sides of the intersection for the duration of the work.
• A minimum of one lane of eastbound and westbound through traffic will be maintained during this work
• Emergency services access will be maintained.
• All pedestrian routes will remain the same.
TTC Impacts
• The eastbound TTC bus stop will remain in place.
• Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely, while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
