What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Wednesday November 23, 2022 crews at Avenue Station will begin permanent streetlight installations on the north and south sides of Eglinton Avenue between Lascelles Boulevard and Duplex Avenue. Rolling lane closures are required to facilitate this work; periodically crews will occupy the curb lane on either side of Eglinton Avenue. One lane in each direction on Eglinton Avenue will be maintained. This work is expected to take place between Monday – Saturday, between 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. for approximately two (2) months.
What to Expect
Removal of existing streetlighting, and installation of new light poles. Use of construction equipment including a lift and flatbed trucks can be expected. Utility work, road and sidewalk restoration, and landscaping will continue on Eglinton Avenue. Noise from construction activity, including trucks, concrete breaking, paving, utility work, and use of heavy equipment can be expected. Traffic barrels, fencing, and signage will be in place to delineate work zones. Access to businesses, properties, and TTC will be maintained. Expect delays while traveling through the intersection.
