What Work is Taking Place?

  • To prepare for future construction, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Investigation work along the south side of Eglinton Avenue East in two sites.
  • The first is between Bermondsey Road and Jonesville Crescent and the second is between Lebovic Avenue and Warden Avenue.
  • Crews will drill bore holes and use a hydro-vacuum truck within the boulevard and roadway to determine the location and depth of existing underground utilities for design purposes.
  • Once the work is complete, roads will be backfilled and restored accordingly.

Timing

  • Work will begin as early as Monday, February 13, 2017 and is expected to last three (3) days.
  • Work will take place between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise caused from saw cutters, hydro-vacuum trucks and construction vehicles during this work.

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • Intermittent lane closures are expected in the eastbound Eglinton Avenue East lanes.
  • Intermittent sidewalk closures are expected on the south sidewalk along Eglinton Avenue East.
  • Pedestrian and property access will be maintained.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
