In preparation for construction of the surface level section of the Eglinton Crosstown, crews will begin conducting preparatory activities and utility works including surveying, locating utilities, and drilling boreholes to obtain additional information on sub-surface utilities and ground conditions in various locations along Eglinton.

What work is starting?

  • As part of the preparatory work for the surface level section of the alignment, crews will be conducting an SUE investigation along Eglinton Avenue East from approximately 50 metres west of Leslie Street to approximately 200 meters east of Leslie Street to determine the location and depth of existing utilities.
  • Crews will drill and hydro-vac overtop of existing utilities within the boulevard and roadway, then a surveyor will examine the utilities to obtain coordinates for design purposes. All will be backfilled and restored accordingly.

  • SUE investigation will begin as early as June 27 and will take approximately two (2) weeks to complete.
  • SUE investigation will be conducted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
