What Work is Taking Place?
- To prepare for future construction of the Leaside Station, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering investigations along Eglinton Avenue East to determine the location and depth of existing utilities.
- Crews will drill and use a vacuum truck overtop of existing utilities within the boulevard and roadway, then a surveyor will examine the utilities to obtain coordinates for design purposes.
Timing
- SUE investigation will begin as early as July 25th, 2016, and will take approximately one (1) week to complete.
- Work is permitted between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
What to Expect
- Residents and businesses near the future Leaside Station will see heavy trucks and equipment in the area as crews move from one test hole to the next.
- While this work is underway, nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear some noise related to the use of vacuum trucks and heavy equipment.
Traffic & Pedestrian Details
- Intermittent lane closures will be required along Bayview Avenue, north and south of Eglinton Avenue, and on Eglinton Avenue, from Mann Ave to east of Bayview Avenue.
- All pedestrian routes remain open.
