What Work is Taking Place?
- To prepare for future construction of Mount Pleasant Station, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations along Eglinton Avenue East and Mount Pleasant Road.
- Crews will drill bore holes and use a hydro-vacuum truck within the roadway to determine the location of the underground utilities and the ground conditions around the intersection for design purposes.
Hours of Work
- SUE investigation began in late September and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
- The work will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- This work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect to see heavy trucks and equipment in the area as crews move from one test hole to the next.
- While this work is underway, nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear some noise related to the use to a saw cutter, hydro-vacuum truck, drill, and other construction equipment.
- A Paid Duty Officer will be present at the intersection during this activity.
Pedestrian Details
- Intermittent sidewalk and crosswalk closures may be in effect.
- The existing pedestrian rerouting around 256-258 Eglinton Avenue East (the former Second Cup building) on the northwest corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Mount Pleasant Road.
Traffic Details
- Intermittent lane closures will be in effect.
- As always, please take care when travelling near construction zones.
