Temporary Lane Restrictions at the East Don River Bridge
January 3, 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
Guideway construction is underway at the East Don River Bridge on Eglinton Avenue East. To complete formwork on the new barrier wall at the bridge, temporary lane restrictions are required beginning as early as January 3, 2020 for two (2) weeks.
Hours of Work
- Starting as early as January 3, 2020 for approximately two (2) weeks.
- Work may occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven (7) days a week.
- The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect
- Site lighting and noise from construction activities can be expected.
- Lane closures are required to safely conduct the work.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Traffic Details
- Temporary closure of the inner eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East at the East Don River Bridge.
- Temporary closure of the inner westbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East at the East Don River Bridge.
- A minimum of one through lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
Transit Information
- There will be no impacts to existing TTC stops.

Travelling Smart during Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
