What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday, February 28, 2023, crews at Avenue Station will perform a concrete pour on the north side of Eglinton Avenue east of Oriole Parkway. The concrete will form a section of the new sidewalk. To facilitate this work safely, crews will be required to close the sidewalk for approximately two (2) days, to allow time for the concrete to cure. Access to Eglinton Park via the west pathway will be restricted during this work. Access to the north-south crosswalk at Eglinton Avenue West and Oriole Parkway will be maintained.

What to Expect

Temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in effect during this work. Advance signage will be in place to direct pedestrians. Noise from construction equipment including trucks, heaters, and hand tools can be expected. 

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Tuesday, February 28, 2023, for approximately two (2) days.  
  • Construction activities are expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work.  

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Oriole Parkway, will be temporarily closed.
  • Access to Eglinton Park via the west pathway will be restricted during this work.
  • Access to the north-south crosswalk at Eglinton Avenue West and Oriole Parkway will be maintained.
