What Work is Taking Place?

  •  Crews will begin installing temporary overhead street light wire on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between Ionview Road and Kennedy Road.
  • Underground street light wiring will be replaced with overhead wiring.

Timing

  •  Work will begin as early as January 4, 2017 for approximately one (1) week.
  • The contractor is permitted to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. 7 days a week. Exact working hours within these timeframes will be at the discretion of the contractor. If overnight work is required, we will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  •  Intermittent reductions of the eastbound curb lane on Eglinton Avenue East between Ionview Road and Kennedy Road are required for this work.
  • No street light outages are expected as this is a conversion from underground to overhead wiring on a parallel circuit allowing us to maintain lighting while performing the work. Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from trucks and other construction equipment.

Pedestrian Details

  •  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Temporary pedestrian rerouting around work zones may be necessary to accommodate this work.

Traffic Details

  •  Lane reductions are required on Eglinton Avenue East to complete this work.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites
