What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday June 8, 2020, crews will be extending the workzone along Eglinton Avenue West to accommodate the next phase of construction. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will remain open. During this phase, street parking on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily restricted from Northcliffe Boulevard to Shortt Street. Upon completion, street parking will reopen. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while work takes place.

Hours of Work

  • The Fairbank Station workzone will be extended as early as Monday, June 8 until approximately July 31
  • Work will be ongoing from as early as 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Weekend work will continue as early as 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected

What to Expect

  • Street parking along Eglinton Avenue West on the south side of the street will be temporarily restricted from Northcliffe Boulevard to Shortt Street
  • Upon completion of this phase, street parking will be reinstated
  • Noise from construction equipment can be expected
  • Local and pedestrian access will be maintained
  • Property access will be maintained
  • Expect delays while travelling near work zones

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • The pedestrian routes at the intersection will remain the same
  • Access to properties along Vaughan Road, Eglinton Avenue West, and Dufferin Street will be maintained

Transit Information

  • No impacts to TTC bus service

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
